Meteor Mobile said it added 18,600 new customers in the first quarter of 2004, bringing its total to 199,200. Virtually all of Meteor's customers are pre-paid.
Total revenues for Meteor's parent, Western Wireless International, were up 89% to $199.5m for the three months to the end of March, compared to the same time last year.
Adjusted EBITDA for the international operations for the quarter was $37.7m, compared to an adjusted EBITDA loss of $3.5m for the first quarter of 2003.
Total customers at March 31, 2004 stood at 1,339,400.
