E-learning company Electric Paper, a subsidiary of ThirdForce, has agreed a new joint venture with Harcourt Education International, part of the Reed Elsevier Group.
Harcourt is the UK's leading educational publisher under the brand names Heinemann, Ginn and Rigby.
Under the new deal, the two companies plan to work together to develop and market a range of Information and Communication Technology education products for the UK. The agreement is believed to be one of the first of its kind in the sector.
'The UK market is an attractive one for this partnership in view of the respective strengths of Electric Paper and Harcourt,' commented Brendan O'Sullivan, ThirdForce CEO.
'The UK Government has committed £59 billion to the education sector this year and has identified ICT as a key priority. Substantial funds are being made available for multimedia resources to optimise use of the 1.7 million computers in UK classrooms,' he added.
The new ICT products will be available from the start of the next academic year.
