Eircom has issued a statement in response to allegations from IFA Telecom earlier today.
IFA Telecom had claimed that Eircom was employing 'below the belt tactics' in its efforts to win back customers. It said it has asked the Garda Fraud Squad to investigate the forgery of a signature of one of its customers.
It also said it had lodged a formal complaint with the Competition Authority about what it describes as Eircom's illegal practices.
Eircom said it regards the IFA Telecom statement as 'outrageous' and added that the company is currently considering its legal position.
