IEDR cuts registration fees by 10%

The IE Domain Registry (IEDR), the company which manages the registration of .ie domain names on the internet, has cut its annual fee for owning an address by 10%.

The new annual rate for owning an individual .ie domain is €112 plus VAT, down from €125 plus VAT. The reduction applies to new registrations and renewals from January 1.

Acting chief executive David Curtin said the company could make the cuts because of much improved trading in 2003, when it returned to profit after a programme of cost cutting.
