O2 Ireland has teamed up with electronic payments company Alphyra to enable its prepaid customers to top up their accounts while travelling abroad.
The service has gone live across selected outlets on the Costa del Sol, the Balearics and the Canary Islands. It will be available in a variety of outlets such as bars, phone and souvenir stores, internet cafes and car rental companies.
The new payment system will also be deployed at selected sites across Alphyra's existing network of over 8,000 payment terminals in the UK, France, Ireland, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.
O2 and Alphyra plan to extend the service to other holiday favourites, including Greece and Italy.
