Media company and owner of Ireland's Today FM radio station, Scottish Radio Holdings, has reported first-half pre-tax profits of £6.9m sterling, over 100% higher than the £3.4m last year.
Operating profit from continuing items, which excludes tax, goodwill amortisation and other items, rose 41% to £9.6m and turnover from continuing operations rose 28% to £41.5m, with like-for-like revenues up 7%.
The company raised its interim dividend by 8% to 6.5 pence and said trading in the second half had 'started well'.
At the company's radio unit, its largest division, local advertising rose 3% and national advertising climbed 8%. Including acquisitions, radio broadcast revenues were 33% higher than the year-earlier period.
At its Score Press unit, which owns newspapers in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, advertising revenues climbed 9%, and like-for-like unit revenue was up 7%.
