Sky has added 17,000 new digital TV subscribers in Ireland in the past three months, bringing its total subscribers to 272,00, over one fifth of Irish homes.
Sky is currently is involved in a dispute with the Communications Regulator's office, ComReg, over whether it should come under its regulatory umbrella.
Sky has previously argued because it is based in Luxembourg it should not come under ComReg's jurisdiction, and thus avoid the price caps faced by its rivals NTL and Chorus.
Sky's parent company, BSkyB, on Friday reported operating profits of £158m sterling for the first half of the year, a 126% increase on the same period a year earlier.
