Trend Micro, a Japanese computer company, is to create 100 new jobs in Cork.
The company sells anti-virus software for computers and other internet security products. It will open a shared services centre for its European operations at an IDA Ireland site in the city and hopes to begin recruiting in April.
The Tokyo-based corporation has 23 business units worldwide and over 1,800 employees.
Tanaiste Mary Harney called the announcement 'a vote of confidence in Ireland's highly skilled and motivated people' and an endorsement of the IDA's policy of promoting high value activities.
