US electronics company APC is to set up a European R&D centre at its European headquarters in Galway.
The investment, which is supported by IDA Ireland, will be over €1m.
Tanaiste Mary Harney said the decision to locate the centre in Galway was influenced by the successful role played by APC's Irish operations within the group.
APC employs around 800 people in Galway, Castlebar and Dublin.
