BT Group said today that it would start selling mobile phone services to consumers again - less than a year after it demerged its wireless arm mm02.
BT is chasing new revenues in an effort to generate annual growth of between 6-8% in the next three years. Its new mobile customer product 'Mobile Sense' will be run on mm02's network and will be targeted at lower spending customers so as to avoid competing with its former offspring.
'Mobile Sense is not a mass-market offering, but it does represent a practical and low-risk step into the consumer mobile space,' BT's Retail Chief Executive Pierre Danon said.
