Ecommerce investment is not a dead duck amongst Irish companies, according to research published today. A survey of 245 companies in the UK and Ireland found that 57% of them are planning to upgrade their web presence as an ecommerce tool, despite the downturn in investor sentiment towards the sector. A further 20% of companies already had ecommerce facility built into their web site.

The survey was carried out by Harte-Hanks into companies employing between 250 and 500 people in 13 market sectors for Genuity, a provider of internet infrastructure services.
