Vodafone to buy remaining Mannesmann shares

British mobile phone giant Vodafone, which bought Eircell here, is planning to buy-out the outstanding minority shareholders of Vodafone AG, formerly German telecoms firm Mannesmann.

Vodafone, which bought Mannesmann in 2000 for $180 billion worth of shares, said it expected the transaction to cost around $383 million.

Vodafone already owns over 99.6% of Vodafone AG.
