All of the unions in The Irish Times newspaper have voted in favour of the severance and early retirement package, negotiated by the company. The voting was 528 to 19.
The Irish Times management are seeking 250 redundancies.
The editorial department of the newspaper have also agreed to reorganisation and flexibility in their areas, and the company has agreed to sweeping changes in how the Board of The Irish Times in run.
The two print unions have agreed, as part of the deal, to move to the new printing plant built by The Irish Times at the City West business park.
The Board will meet tomorrow to discuss the implications of the reorganisation.
