Weak US figures pull Vodafone lower

Shares in Vodafone dropped by nearly 4% in London to £1.645 sterling today, following weak subscriber growth in its US joint venture.

Verizon Wireless, a joint venture between Vodafone and Verizon Communications, reported fourth quarter subscriber figures well below market expectations.

Vodafone is the largest company in the FTSE 100, and today's fall saw it drag the whole index down 19 points.
