Over 400 million euros has been invested by venture capital companies in the Irish technology sector this year, according to a study by Ion Equity.
On the general climate for the tech sector, Ion's Chief Executive, Neil O'Leary said that the outlook was not as negative as some commentators had painted.
'Depending on what part of the evolution cycle different companies are in the outlook can be very positive. For companies looking at expansion or searching for later stage finance, the outlook is actually very positive,' he said.
'Indeed with over 48 billion euros raised by the European VC industry last year alone, there is a wall of money for companies at the right stage of evolution and in the right market sector,' he added.
