US technology company Xilinx, which employs 360 people at its facility at Citywest in Dublin, has reported revenues of $224.6m for its second quarter to the end of September, a 49% fall on the same quarter a year ago.
Sequentially, revenues decreased by 22% from the preceding quarter.
Xilinx says the results are in line with the general global economic climate and current semiconductor industry trends. Operating loss for the second quarter was $115m, while net losses were $176m.
Xilinx says a proposed IR£41m expansion of its advanced R&D, engineering and operations centre in Dublin is well advanced and remains on schedule for completion in 2002.
