Cable company NTL today launched its digital cable television service, which it says will be available to 140,000 homes in Dublin, Galway and Waterford by the end of September.
NTL is offering a total of 73 channels and says it plans to roll out the service to an additional 10,000 homes per month over the coming months.
The company's Go Digital package offers 35 additional channels for £10 a month, including a digital set-top box. Another 23 channels are available on subscription. NTL says the digital package is compatible with all television sets.
It is also providing an on-demand movie and events service called Front Row, which it says will give viewers access to recently released films up to six months before they appear on premium movie channels. The cost is £3 per movie.
NTL's service also includes an Electronic Programme Guide which it says enables customers to tailor their viewing according to their taste.
