Dublin-based mobile technology company MobileAware is to provide infrastructure for Xfera, one of Spain's four third generation mobile licence holders.
MobileAware, which employs 60 people, says Xfera will use its Everix Mobility Server to create e-business services for its 3G portal.
Xfera's shareholders include Sonera, ACS and Vivendi. It plans to launch its services before the end of this year.
