The RTE Authority has expressed concern that the Government's plan to increase the television licence fee by only £14.50 will not allow the station to maintain its current level of broadcasting services.
In its first official reaction to last Tuesday's announcement, RTE's governing body said the level of the increase would not achieve what the Government appeared to believe it would.
The response followed a special meeting of the Authority on Friday morning.
