Omnipay, the Irish-based payment processing company, has secured a five year contract with First Data Corporation. Omnipay will process multi-currency and e-commerce payments for First Data's alliance banks and financial services worldwide.
The deal will create a potential value of £45 million in transaction fee revenue for Omnipay over the five year term of the contract.
'First Data is the largest payment processor in the world and their global network provides us with a huge opportunity,' Omnipay's Chief Executive Brian Connolly said.
First Data will launch the multi-currency services to its sales partners and clients such as financial institutions, sales organisations and financial organisations.
Omnipay was founded last year by Brian Connolly and Hubert O'Donoghue, former executives of AIB and Trintech. The company employs 27 in its Dublin headquarters.
