An online sales network company, Netline, has secured a deal with MSN to bring Hotmail to Ireland.
Netline generates advertising revenue for a number of high profile Irish sites and is now the only sales representative of MSN Hotmail in Ireland.
Of the 485,000 active Internet users in Ireland, 454,000 have active Hotmail accounts, and Netline will offer Irish advertisers the ability to target these Hotmail users with banner advertising.
Studies estimate that the value of Irish online advertising was £6m in 2000.
