Packaging group Jefferson Smurfit has chosen e-commerce company Marrakech to provide a global procurement solution to allow online ordering and settlement with suppliers.
Ros O'Shea, VP of e-business at Smurfit, says the deal will improve efficiency and enhance business relationships with trading partners.
The Marrakech global commerce network provides a web-based platform for buyers, suppliers and banks to conduct all their transactions online.
It is one of the first major deals signed by the notoriously low-profile Marrakech, which numbers Denis O'Brien and Leslie Buckley among its backers.
