30 new jobs are to be created at an Irish owned PC manufacturer and IT distributor based in Dundalk. iQon Technologies says the jobs will be created as a result of a £3m expansion.
iQon also announced today that it had won a £5m contract to supply UK retailer Argos with computers which will be made in Dundalk.
The company's major investment programme will see the company move to a new production and distribution facility in Dundalk in the first quarter of 2002.
The expansion programme, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland, will be funded through retained profit and additional investment by directors. iQon has a turnover of £12m and made this year's Deloitte and Touche Fast 50, which lists the country's fastest growing technology companies.
iQon PCs are made in Ireland using Philips multimedia components.
