February industrial production up 4.8%

According to the early global estimate, the seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for the three months ending February 2001 was 4.8% up on that for the previous three month period.

The year on year increase for February 2001 was 27.4%, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office today.

The CSO said that because the estimate is based on past trends, sudden changes in these trends are unlikely to be fully reflected in the early estimate.

Detailed data for February 2001 will be published by the end of the month.
