It is reported that Denis O'Brien will hold a crunch meeting with advisers representing Eircom's unions and their 14.9% shareholding in the company in the next few days.
The Irish Independent says that at the meeting, Mr O'Brien is expected to present his proposals on the future of Eircom and the employees' role in it, if they support his planned bid to buy Eircom.
Mr O'Brien flew in to Dublin on Thursday for an intensive week of meetings designed to progress his interest in buying Eircom.
According to today's reports, he is expected to outline the reasons why the employees, who control nearly 15% of the company, should back him if he makes a formal offer for the company. The details of the proposals are not known.
His consortium is understood to want to take 100% ownership of Eircom.
