The European Commission has approved British Telecom's acquisition on Telenor's 49.5% stake in mobile operator Esat Digifone.
A Commission statement said its investigation had shown that the deal did not raise any competition concerns, as it would not lead to the creation or strengthening of a dominant position.
BT last month gained full control of Digifone after buying Telenor's stake for $1.24bn. It already owned the rest of Digifone after buying Esat Telecom early last year.
