Openet Telecom, the Irish owned software company, is set to create 200 new jobs in Ireland, Europe and the US by the end of next year. The planned major global expansion follows recent major contract wins in Europe and the US.
Openet is exploiting a global niche for a solution which allows Communications Service Providers to identify and bill customers according to types of usage rather than time and distance.
This process, Convergent Mediation, is increasingly relevant to providers of new telecommunications services, particularly as voice and data services converge.
Founded 18 months ago, the company has more doubled its employment to 80 and currently operates offices in Ireland, the UK, Germany, France, Sweden and the US. Openet is currently also in the process of starting up operations in Hungary.
