Unofficial strike action by Eircell call centre workers disrupted services for Ready to Go customers this afternoon.
An Eircell spokeswoman confirmed the unofficial action affected their customer service line for two hours, however she said the problem was now resolved and there had been no impact on the network.
Eircell workers are threatening official action in a row with Eircom over suggestions that they will miss out on 50 million pounds worth of share options following the sale of the mobile business to Vodafone.
Both unions and management agree that workers should be compensated for the missed share options, but the Eircom unions think this should be funded by the company, whilst management say it should come out of the finances of the Employee Share Option Trust.
Eircom management say talks are ongoing to find a solution, and the unions coalition confirmed this afternoon that no official action had been set for next Wednesday contrary to media reports today.
