Telecommunications company NTL has told telecoms regulator Etain Doyle that it will report back at the end of February on the extent of the delay in its roll out of digital TV services.
The company did not say that it would fail to fulfill its commitment to roll out digital TV services by the end of March.
This is despite the fact that NTL's Irish head Ian Jeffers appeared to confirm this breach of its licence when he announced the delay in the Irish operations earlier this month.
A spokeswoman for the regulator said the ODTR would await the report next month before deciding what action to take. She said the regulator had again reminded NTL of its obligations, and was prepared to take a number of courses of action should licence obligations be breached.
