Carphone Warehouse Plc, the UK's largest mobile phone retailer which also operates in Ireland, said that total group sales surged 81% to £124 million in the four weeks to December 30, against the same period in 1999.
The company, which floated on the London Stock Exchange last July, said retail and online connection numbers grew by 70% to 569,000 during that time, compared to the corresponding period the previous year. In the 13 weeks to December 30, retail gross margins increased 1.5% compared to the same period previously.
