Communications company NTL is to outsource its information technology activities in Britain and Ireland to IBM, in a deal which NTL says will save it £300m over ten years.
The company also says the move will speed up the delivery of its services.
NTL currently employs 600 associates and contractors in IT across Ireland and Britain, and says all those who transfer to IBM will be offered employment. This will affect about 33 Irish staff.
The new alliance is based on a ten-year deal IBM signed with NTL in 1998.
