Richard Desmond, the publisher of celebrity magazine OK!, is to buy Britain's tabloid Express newspapers for £125m sterling, Express's parent company United News & Media says.
Desmond will pay cash for the titles which include three nationals - Daily Express, Sunday Express and Daily Star.
The 49-year-old publisher beat off competition from the billionaire Hinduja brothers who believed only this morning they were still the front runners for the titles.
