Watch: On the frontline of Dublin's homelessness crisis

The Government allocated a record €6bn for housing in Budget 2025, but charities working at the sharp end of the homeless crisis say it has not gone far enough.

The Simon Communities and Focus Ireland were among several organisations to express disappointment when the spending plans were announced last week.

Now Tiglin, a charity which helps people overcome addiction and homelessness, has also voiced its concerns.

"We've almost 14,500 people on the homeless list. Any help in increasing their allowances in the Budget really helps, but housing remains the big ask," said founder Aubrey McCarthy.

The Government insists that supporting people experiencing homelessness remains a "priority".
