Mattie McGrath on the 'real Ireland'

They stand for "common sense" politics which does "what it says on the tin", Mattie McGrath says of the Rural Independent Group.

This week, that included a heated debate on immigration tabled by the group, which Deputy McGrath says at times veered into the "surreal".

He tells Áine Lawlor that he doesn't take offence at people misunderstanding him; his Gaeilgeoir grandmother didn't have a word of English.

"But who are you loyal to, Mattie?" asks Micheál Lehane.

Áine is also joined by Sandra Hurley, and Tommy Meskill who spoke to Senator David Norris about his retirement, his sunny retreat in the Med and his cat.
