A man is due in court this evening charged in connection with the murder of a woman near Clifden in Galway.
He is due before a special sitting of Galway District Court at around 9.30pm.
The man was arrested on Thursday after the body of Masuma Sohrabi was discovered near an IPAS accommodation centre by Waterloo Bridge, on the outskirts of the village.
Her body was found shortly before 9am that morning.
Ms Sohrabi, who was in her 30s and known locally as Atijafari, had been attacked and sustained fatal slash and stab wounds.
