An investigation is under way after a man's body was discovered at a house in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
A 38-year-old man was found at the house in Brookwood Heights in Artane at around 12.30am after gardaí were called to the scene following reports of a disturbance.
He was treated at the scene, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A man in his 60s was arrested and is being questioned at a garda station in north Dublin.
It is understood the victim and the man in custody knew each other.
The man's body has removed from the house and the Garda Technical Bureau has carried out an examination of the scene. The house remains sealed off.
He appears to have died following a row at the house, but gardaí say the results of a post-mortem examination will determine the cause of death and the direction of the investigation.
They say they are following a definite line of inquiry and not looking for anyone else at present.
The scene has been preserved for a forensic examination and an incident room has been established at Clontarf Garda Station.
