The Food Safety Authority (FSAI) has issued a recall notice for specific batches of Lidl chicken breast fillet products, due to the presence of salmonella.
The authority has also urged consumers to check their freezers for the products.
The impacted products are batches of Lidl's Free Range 100% Irish Chicken Breast Fillets 291g, and 100% Irish Diced Chicken Breast Fillets 550g - each with a use-by date of 12 April.
The FSAI said that although the batches are past their use-by date, they are "suitable for home freezing".
It has advised consumers to check their freezers for the implicated batch and not to eat any of the products.

The FSAI said: "People infected with salmonella typically develop symptoms between 12 and 36 hours after infection, but this can range between six and 72 hours.
"The most common symptom is diarrhoea, which can sometimes be bloody. Other symptoms may include fever, headache and abdominal cramps.
"The illness usually lasts four to seven days. Diarrhoea can occasionally be severe enough to require hospital admission.
"The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness."
Yesterday, the FSAI also issued a recall of specific batches of Western Brand Sage & Onion Cook in Bag whole chicken, also due to the possible presence of Salmonella.
The products are sold in both Aldi and Tesco, with use by dates of 13 and 14 May.
