Two men have been stabbed in a predominantly Jewish area of north London in what UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer called a "deeply concerning" attack.
A man has been arrested after he was seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife and "attempting to stab Jewish members of the public", Jewish security group Shomrim said on social media.
He was detained by members of the group before police officers tasered and arrested him, the organisation said.
Mr Starmer said "those responsible will be brought to justice" following the stabbing.
He said: "The antisemitic attack in Golders Green is utterly appalling.
"Attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain.
"Thank you to Shomrim, Hatzola and the police for acting swiftly.
"Those responsible will be brought to justice."
'We are terrified', says Jewish community leader Debbie Fox
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: "There has been an appalling attack on two Jewish Londoners in Golders Green."
He said he was in close contact with the Metropolitan Police, which has stepped up high-visibility patrols in the area, and thanked the emergency services and "heroic volunteers" for their response to the incident.
Mr Khan added: "London's Jewish community have been the target of a series of shocking antisemitic attacks.
"There must be absolutely no place for antisemitism in society."
Shomrim reported two people were stabbed and are being treated by Hatzola, a Jewish volunteer ambulance service.
The scene is around half a mile from a memorial wall where an attempted arson attack took place on Monday, and near where four Jewish community ambulances were destroyed by fire in late March.
These are among a number of alleged attacks on Jewish sites in London in recent weeks.
UK government urged to act on antisemitism
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp described the stabbings as "yet another appalling antisemitic attack".
In a post on X, he said: "This is yet another appalling antisemitic attack.
"The Jewish community are not being properly protected from this hate.
"We have seen Iran sponsoring antisemitic attacks and Islamist extremism run rampant.
"The Government must urgently step up tangible actions against antisemitism, Iran and Islamist extremism."
Israel's foreign ministry urged the UK government to swiftly take action against antisemitism.
"After attacks on synagogues, Jewish institutions, community ambulances and now Jews targeted in Golders Green, the UK government can no longer claim this is under control," the ministry wrote on X.
"Prime Minister Keir Starmer's statements are no substitute for confronting the roots of antisemitism festering across United Kingdom... Enough words. The UK must act decisively and urgently."
In a separate statement, Israel's President Isaac Herzog said he was "horrified" by the attack.
"In one of the great capital cities of the West, it has become dangerous to openly walk the streets as a Jew," Mr Herzog wrote on X.
"It's time for the world to wake up and fight this vicious wave of Jew hatred with all possible means."
