Strong winds and heavy rain are forecast for today as Status Yellow wind or rain warnings have been issued for eight counties.
The rain warning will be in place for Cork, Kerry and Waterford from 9am until 9pm, with Met Éireann warning of spells of heavy rain, which could lead to localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
A separate Status Yellow wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, which will be in place from midday until 9pm.
The forecaster said strong and gusty south to southeast winds could lead to fallen trees and branches, along with difficult travelling conditions.
