Gardaí detected over 1,400 drivers speeding in the first 48 hours of the Easter bank holiday weekend.
A garda road safety operation has been in operation since 7am on Thursday, 2 April.
Yesterday, a driver was detected driving 141 km/h in a 100km/h zone on the N22 in Killaha, Killarney, Co Kerry.
Another vehicle was spotted driving 115 km/h in an 80km/h zone on the R733 in Curraghmore, Co Wexford.
A driver on the N11 Stillorgan Road in Co Dublin, was also caught doing 81 km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Gardaí have also arrested 66 people for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
A little under 170 people have been detected holding a mobile phone or not wearing a seatbelt since the safety campaign launched.
So far, there have been no fatalities due to traffic incidents between the start of the operation and this morning.
Gardaí are carrying out mandatory intoxicant testing and regular, high-visibility policing checkpoints, and have urged all road users to support their efforts to keep people safe across the Easter weekend.
The road safety operation will run until 7am on Tuesday.
