Pedestrian, 50s, killed in Co Kildare collision

A man in his 50s has died after he was struck by a car in Co Kildare on Saturday.

The incident occurred at around 5.25am in the Mylerstown area near Robertstown.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for a technical examination, but later reopened.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who was travelling in the area between 5am and 5.45am, and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 6667800, the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
