A man in his 50s has died and two women were injured in an incident in north Dublin city early this morning.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to reports of an assault on Foster Terrace, Ballybough, Dublin 3, shortly before 1.30am.
A man was discovered with serious injuries and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.
Two woman, aged in their 60s, were taken to hospital for treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
The scene on Foster Terrace and a nearby domestic residence have been preserved for forensic examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
The Coroner and the Office of the State Pathologist have been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
A Senior Investigating Officer (SIO) has been appointed to lead the investigation and an incident room has been established at Mountjoy Garda Station.
No arrests have been made at this time.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information in relation to this incident, to come forward.
They are also appealing to anyone with camera footage, including motorists with dashcam footage from the area between 1am and 1.30am on Saturday 31st January 2026, to contact them.
