Jessie Buckley won Best Actress at the Golden Globes on Sunday for her performance in Hamnet, alongside Paul Mescal, while the film itself also took the Best Picture Award.
Presenters Evelyn O’Rourke and Maggie Doyle discuss the win, what it means for Irish acting talent and how speeches at awards events can be an opportunity to highlight other issues.
Later on the podcast, Professor Fawaz Gerges of the London School of Economics discusses the ongoing crisis in Iran.
The EU says it is "looking into" imposing additional sanctions on Iran over a violent crackdown on protests that are posing one of the biggest challenges to clerical rule since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Prof Gerges told Behind the Story he believes sanctions are not the way to go.
"I am a great believer that change has to come from within – that internal change is the most resilient and the most effective," he said.
"Any change that’s imposed from without, on the barrel of a gun or through economic sanctions, basically will be counterproductive.
"Look at Iraq from 2003 to 2011, look at Afghanistan, look at Libya".
Prof Gerges said he believes Iran "does not really need more sanctions, it needs our moral support."
He said the current regime in Tehran could "go all the way – there is nothing the Iranian regime will not do in order to preserve its existence."
"This could really become a bloodbath".
"Not only do they believe that the protesters are rioters, [but] they’re facing a perfect storm: the convergence of domestic grievances by millions of Iranians and threats by the United States and Israel," he added.
