An investigation is under way after a man in his 20s was injured in a shooting in north Dublin, yesterday evening.
The incident occurred at Coultry Terrace in Ballymun shortly after 7pm.
The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Gardaí said a vehicle was discovered on fire a short time later on Kilbarron Road in Dublin 5 and said that they believed the two incidents may be connected.
The scene at Coultry Terrace has been preserved for a forensic examination.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area of Coultry Terrace and Kilbarron Road between 6.50pm and 8.10pm yesterday to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
