Watch: Australia's new social media ban explained

Australia will become the first country to implement a social media ban for under-16s on 10 December.

The Australian government has said the aim of the ban is to protect young people from the negative aspects of social media.

Earlier this year, it commissioned a study which found that 96% of Australian children aged 10-15 used social media and that 70% of them had been exposed to harmful content at some point.
