Gardaí in Co Galway are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Conamara.
Emergency services were called to a house in Sáile Chuanna, which is a short distance from the village of An Spidéal, at around 5:30pm yesterday.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out in an effort to determine the cause of her death.
It is understood the deceased woman was from the area.
Garda technical experts will also conduct a forensic examination of the house as part of the investigation process.
