A Dublin woman who has crocheted thousands of 'Michael Tea Higgins' tea cosies is preparing for a new presidency.
Susan Banks from Tallaght began creating her Michael D Higgins-inspired creations back in 2017.
Since then, she estimates that she has handmade 2,700-2,800 of them. Each one takes roughly three and a half hours to make.
Ms Banks says orders for her new 'Catherine Connoll-Tea' tea cosy started coming in before Catherine Connolly was even elected as the next President of Ireland.
"I knew I'd have to do the next one and keep the presidency going. It's not an end, it’s the beginning of something new," she told RTÉ News.
"I had her done before she got elected, it has gone up on our Facebook and they're all ordering her."
Ms Banks and her daughter Rachel started their 'Not Just Hats' business by going to craft fairs but now their online orders are booming.
"They've gone worldwide. That'll just show you how popular President Higgins is. We'll see if it happens now with Catherine Connolly," she added.
