Further weapons have been found in Cork city during follow up searches following the arrest of a man in his 40s earlier this week.
The man was arrested on Tuesday night in possession of three handguns, two of them loaded.
He is in his mid-40s and from Douglas.
Gardaí searched the man's car after he was seen acting suspiciously in Mallow.
They also found a small quantity of cocaine in the car.


The army bomb disposal team helped to carry out follow-up searches at the house in Douglas yesterday and on Wednesday.
During follow up searches carried out since, suspected shotgun cartridges, ammunition, pipe bomb components, firearm components, firearms and various other items have been seized.
They have been sent for forensic and ballistic examination.
Gardaí have said their investigation is ongoing.
