There is a "long way to go" for peace in the Middle East despite a plan by US President Donald Trump, the UK Independent's Chief International Correspondent Bel Trew has told Behind the Story.
Mr Trump touted his 20-point plan as "the historic dawn of a new Middle East" during a long speech to the Israeli parliament earlier.
His address followed the release of all 20 living Israeli hostages from Gaza and the release of around 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees.
Speaking from Tel Aviv, Ms Trew said there has been "immense anxiety" in the last few hours.
"We've been here before, there’s been many ceasefires deals that have fallen through," she said.
"We’ve got these extremely visceral moments for families whose lives have been torn apart by this on a really personal level," she said, recalling one mother in the West Bank who wept and fell to the floor when she saw her son who was released from an Israeli jail.

"Then Donald Trump in the middle of this [is] doing his usual grandstanding in front of an adoring audience… painting this as basically the beginning of peace in the Middle East.
"That juxtaposition is quite extraordinary - but it’s also important to mention that we really have a long way to go.
"Today was phase one of what will be one of the most complicated peace agreements - if there is indeed a peace agreement - to be battled out.
"The notion that this is the end and it’s all been done is a bit premature."

Ms Trew said she is concerned about what happens next.
"We have an unprecedented humanitarian crisis in Gaza, that’s not going to be fixed overnight," she said
"Is Israel going to fully lift the blockade on Gaza that’s been happening for decades? Is enough aid going to get in to be able to deal with a famine and tens of thousands of wounded people?"
Ms Trew said the reconstruction of Gaza is another major sticking point.
"Swathes of Gaza are basically dust and ash; I don’t even know how you begin" she added, recalling attending a reconstruction conference for Gaza 11 years ago.
