There are fears of job cuts at the Irish operation of US technology company Oracle.

The Department of Enterprise said it has received a collective redundancy notification from the firm.

Such notifications are required in cases of thirty of more proposed redundancies.

Oracle has been contacted for comment but it is not yet known how many job cuts are being planned.

"The Department received a collective redundancy notification from Oracle on 19 September 2025," said a spokesperson for the Department of Enterprise.

"Any further queries should be directed to the company," they added.

Filings for the main Irish arm of Oracle, Oracle EMEA Ltd, show that numbers employed by the business last year reduced from 1,049 to 918 made up of sales and marketing of 524, 177 in manufacturing and software development, 158 in finance and administration and 59 in product localisation and translation.

The accounts also show that the Irish-based firm made pre-tax profits last year of €481m.

Oracle was co-founded by billionaire Larry Ellison who remains the company's Executive Chairman.

Today, Oracle announced two new Co-CEOs with the current Chief Executive Safra Catz becoming Executive Vice Chair of the company's board.
